To start with, I love the packaging; not the most fancy but super functional and reduces the mess and fuss on a daily basis. It also makes it stress free to travel with as you don’t have the worry of broken bottles etc. Another huge perk is the fact that it has a SPF of 30. It means your skin is well protected without having to add an extra product to your daily routine. It comes in 12 shades and I am wearing NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in St Moritz, Medium 1 in the picture above.
Although it has been named a tint, it delivers light-medium buildable coverage. It feels hydrating and blends well into the skin considering its an oil free formula. Ive found a beauty blender or dense brush are the best ways to apply it though it may streak at first with a brush. If you power through however, you are left with an even looking, velvet matte skin to die for. I’ve never been a huge fan of overly matte skin so this is the perfect level of matte-ness for me. Skin feels smooth to the touch, fine lines and pores are blurred with a skin-like matte finish. Vitmains C & E and Rose Fruit extract in the formula provide antioxidant protection and tighten pores over time when NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint is used regularly.
This still is the ONLY matte skin product that lives in my makeup bag; it is easy, quick and gives me flawless skin. I don’t feel the need to prime my skin or powder over this as the lasting power is quite impressive all by itself. It gives enough coverage for me to use daily and gives my skin a lovely comfortable, satin finish without drying out my skin further.
I would highly recommend it for anyone with a dehydrated/normal skin who wants a matte finish that still looks like skin. Oiler skin types would probably prefer something more matte but I think this would work on majority of skin types. Find it here.
