Wardrobe Basic: Black Maxi Dress <3

Instead of a classic Little Black Dress, I’m going to share my wardrobe basic of a Black Maxi Dress. If you read my last post on my maxi skirt, you’ll know why I like maxis so much. Maxi dresses and skirts are not only up my street because they’re super floaty and feminine but they’re also a wardrobe habit I’ve picked up from spending a lot of time in Dubai(where modest dress is preferred).

Sunglasses, Bag, Pearls, Dress.

This ASOS dress is very affordable and totally worth the price but as happens so often on here, it has also now gone on sale! I’m sorry to those of you whose sizes are sold out but it often happens by the time I get the images and am able to schedule the post on the blog!

Anyway, this maxi dress has become a total wardrobe basic for me in London, Dubai and on holiday. I am able to wear it during the day or of an evening and can achieve numerous looks with it depending on how I accessorise it, if at all. It is made of a soft jersey material which is always so comfortable and the fit is far more superior than I expected. The straps on the shoulder are adjustable which make it easy for women of any size to adjust to a point where they’re comfortable with what is left on show! The ability to adjust them also means a added bonus of extra lift in the area which is always a good thing right girls??The dress then flares out from under the bust with a copious amount of fabric and therefore plenty of flow factor. The pleats on the bottom portion of the dress are hard to see on the ASOS website(hopefully you can see them more clearly in my pictures) but are a nice added detail. The maxi dress was so much prettier than I expected and am totally chuffed with how much wear I’ve gotten out of it already.

On holiday, I found I wore it with little/no accessories and in London I tend to accessorise it heavily like in the picture to make it more stylish. I wore quite dramatic Prada sunglasses with it above as well as a statement Chanel necklace to complement the classic nature of the dress. I felt like I needed a small bag to balance the look with the statement pearls so I used my small YSL bag from Farfetch. All the links are below the pictures as always!
